This collaboration includes the students and community of Wellington, mana whenua Taranaki Whānui, the Greater Wellington Regional Council, the Wellington University Coastal Ecology Lab and NIWA. The project spans across education, community events and engagement, a knowledge development stream working with mana whenua and research institution, and all with a view to sharing our journey as we work towards the regeneration of Wellington’s seaweed forests. Pilot plant-outs have already begun, and we look to initiate at least 4 sites inside the harbour by Winter 2023
