This pledge includes the publication of a webstory about bull kelp along its bioregion on the North Pacific Coast -- from Central California to California’s North Coast, the Oregon Coast, the Puget Sound and Coast of Washington, British Columbia and Southeast and Southwest Alaska. Other campaign initiatives include hosting art exhibitions and events focused on bull kelp forests in regions along the North Pacific Coast, network building across regions, and outreach to local Indigenous communities to integrate their stories and art into the Above/Below campaign. Achieving our pledge will contribute to local community engagement and will help connect regional organizations and their kelp research and restoration projects so that they can better learn from each other, as well as promote the protection and restoration of kelp forests coastwide and foster a culture of ocean stewardship over the long term.
