Love Rimurimu Kelp Restoration in Aeoteora: Love Rimurimu is a community-led collaboration to regenerate the underwater forests of Te Whanganui-a-Tara (The great harbour of Tara/Wellington, NZ). Community restoration is a social and cultural endeavour and here we'll share the collaborations, and the people who've helped make the project succeed - as well as some of the learnings bringing community into the project - across education with schools, community science, and outreach. As well as a walk through of progress with our community plant-outs to date.
Above/Below: Building the Webstory "The Mysterious World of Bull Kelp": Marianna Leuschel and Josie Iselin are artists, writers, and designers who have created a comprehensive web-based book about bull kelp. They will walk us through their process of connecting with scientific experts, conceptualizing the structure of the webstory, writing the content, curating the material, designing the page templates, and reviewing the project management strategy for building this beautiful, successful, award-winning webstory. Their key takeaway: collaborate with a designer!
